Grand Opening July 2007

The Sammamish Diabetes and Lipid Clinic opened for business on July 26, 2007. Our mission is to provide the highest possible quality of primary care to patients who have diabetes or lipid problems. The clinic is structured as a micropractice, with only one physician and no employees. We intend to limit the number of patients to no more than about 800 total, so that each or our patients will be able to have timely access to the doctor, and so that the physician work load will be manageable

Who Can Be a Patient?

Sammamish Diabetes and Lipid Clinic will be open to established patients of Dr. Stewart who have diabetes or lipid (cholesterol or triglyceride) problems. Longstanding patients without these problems may be seen at the clinic if desired, provided that we are able to accommodate all of the current patients with diabetes or lipid problems who wish to be seen at the clinic. At this time, new patients who have not previously been seen by Dr. Stewart will not be accepted. Because this is a totally new practice, all patients will need to register with the clinic before they will be considered as active patients.  

About Dr. Stewart

Doctor Don Stewart is a Northwest native who grew up in Seattle and Bellevue, and attended Newport High School, the University of Washington as an undergraduate, and the University of Washington School of Medicine. He did his residency in Family Practice at the Swedish Hospital Medical Center, and founded Pine Lake Family Medicine on the Pine Lake Plateau in 1983. Pine Lake Family Medicine was purchased by Swedish Physicians in 2003, and renamed Swedish Physicians Pine Lake. Dr. Stewart served as the Medical Director of Swedish Physicians Pine Lake until 2007, when he left to open the Sammamish Diabetes and Lipid Clinic, to focus on the care of patients with these problems.   More About Dr. Stewart
